Q.
When I arrive in Phuket should I contact you?
A. Our driver will be waiting at the pickup
point you have specified to pick you up between 8:00 and 8:15 on the morning
of your charter. There is no need to inform us of your arrival except
for the following situations:
1. If you did not specify your accommodation
at the time of booking, please call before the day of the charter in order
that arrangements to meet can be made.
2. When a Join On 3000 or Join On Night Fishing trip is booked, please
call to let us know if a lady will be accompanying you in order that enough
food may be provisioned.
3. For speedboat tours where three choices of destinations are requested
please call the day before the trip with your choices in order that the
boat may be provisioned with adequate fuel.
4. For local liveaboard charters where
a personalized itinerary is requested please call the day before the trip
to let us know of this itinerary.
5. For day charters with special requests,
please call the day before the trip in order that the special request
can be confirmed ie. destination, specific type of fishing.

Q. What is your policy on payment
cancellation?
A. All bookings require a 30% deposit at
the time of booking in order to reserve your trip. The remaining balance
of 70% is to paid in cash prior to the trip. Any cancellation at any time
results in the loss of your 30% deposit.
Q. How do I book a boat?
A. Simply choose the trip you would like
to go on and then click on the "Book-A-Boat"
button. Choose the boat you wish to charter and the month in which you
would like to go. From the calendar page follow the "Booking
is Easy" steps. Once you have selected your trip and your
boat, click the "Book It" button.
Our online booking system is both a secure and easy system
to use. Your personal and credit card information are encrypted and sent
to the banking network for verification. No one sees, nor can they obtain
this information. If you should at any time during your booking experience

Q. What should I bring
on fishing charters?
A. We suggest that you bring the following
items on all trips, keeping in mind that you will be fishing in tropical
conditions.
- White cotton shirts (T-shirts) are the most comfortable
- Shorts or light trousers
- A long billed cap or a wide rim hat and sunglasses
- Light walking shoes, deck shoes or sandals
- Bathing suit and towel
- Sunscreen with a SPF of at least 15
- Cameras and camcorders
For liveaboards, we suggest that in addition to the
above items, you bring the following:
- Extra clothing
- Light jacket for nighttime wear
- Reading material
- Music - CD's, cassettes
- Personal items and toiletries
You may bring along all of your luggage and travel
bags.

Q. Should I be worried about
my health while on vacation?
A. The healthcare standards in southern Thailand
are quite high and no extra precautionary medicines or injections against
malaria or other diseases are necessary. However, it is always a good
idea to purchase travel insurance and additional health insurance whenever
you travel outside your home country. Phuket Deep
Sea Fishing is fully insured against accidents that occur on board
our boats and we have a contingency plan with the Bangkok-Phuket Hospital
in the unlikely event of an accident. The Bangkok-Phuket hospital is a
fully modern western hospital that is ISO 9002 certified. ISO 9002 is
an international system that ensures a high quality standard to be maintained
by participating organizations.
Q. What types of fish can I
expect to catch?
A. You can expect to catch a wide variety
of big game fish in this area of the Andaman Sea. Wahoo, Dorado, several
species of Tuna, Rainbow Runner, Blue Finned Trevally, Cobia, Giant Trevally,
Narrow Barred Mackerel (Tenggiri) and Barracuda are all plentiful. The
bigger gamefish of Black Marlin, Sailfish and several species of sharks
can be found in deeper waters.
Q. Do we need to be fishing
experts to fish with you?
A. We do not require that you be an expert.
In fact we welcome and encourage all novices and professionals alike to
come experience fishing in the tropical waters of the Phuket area. The
crews on board our boats are well-seasoned fishermen and are always happy
to offer some tips and techniques on landing the big one and on using
these techniques to catch the many different types of fish found in the
Andaman Sea.
Q. What is the food like on board your fishing
boats?
A. Meals on day trips consist of both western
and Thai cuisine as well as fresh fruit, snacks, bottled water and soft
drinks. Three meals a day are served on liveaboard charters. Western and
Thai cuisine are featured as well as an assortment of fish from the catches
of the day that can be barbecued and fried. A delicious snack is sashimi,
slices of freshly caught tuna. (The sauce is on us!) Food is plentiful
on all of these trips - you won't go hungry! Alcohol is not provided.
We can arrange to stock your favourite beer or spirit or you may bring
along what you desire.

A. All our boats are equipped with a first
aid kit that contains medication for seasickness in addition to headaches,
stomachaches, cuts, bruises, etc. Should you have any medical condition,
kindly let us know beforehand so that we can ensure that your needs are
met.
Q. What kind of boats do you have?
A. Phuket Deep Sea
Fishing has a wide range of boats for your fishing and sightseeing
trips. The type of fishing boat chartered depends both upon the type of
charter and its price range. Join On and Day Trip charters use boats equipped
for shorter range distances and include fish finders, depth sounders and
electronics necessary for navigation. All of these boats have good quality
fishing equipment such as Diawa with some having Penn International and
Shimano gear.
Liveaboards are high quality boats that feature all the amenities and
comforts necessary for longer range travel to places such as Ko Rok and
Ko Adang, the Similan Islands and the Andaman Islands. These boats have
the latest topnotch fishing equipment (Penn International and Shimano)
and electronic devices such as GPS, radio communication equipment, depth
gauges, fish finders, etc. We have three different types of modern speedboats
with varying horsepower - 400HP, 280HP and 200HP. These boats are for
sightseeing and high speed travel to islands and areas around Phuket.
All boats are fully insured and licensed and are equipped with standard
safety requirements including life jackets.
Q. Can I bring my own fishing equipment?
A. Yes you can. You are welcome to bring
your own fishing equipment although we do provide all that is necessary.
All equipment is included in the price. However, we are not be responsible
if for your equipment is lost or damaged.
Q. Can we keep our catch?
A. Of course! You may keep and eat any smaller
table fish such as tuna, dorado, wahoo, etc. but all billfish and sharks
will be released. Small fish may be cooked on the Join On 3000 and liveaboards
and eaten on the boat. You can also take your catch of the day ashore
from your day trip to be eaten at a restaurant. Don's
Cafe in Nai Harn Beach will cook your fish for you in the way
you want or have them suggest something Thai style. You may just want
to get the recipe afterwards!
Q. Will there be other groups on board the
boat?
A. The Join On 2000 and Join On 3000 accept
individuals for a day trip to neighbouring islands so you will have the
opportunity to meet other anglers from abroad. All other chartered bookings
will consist of only the party that has booked the boat.
Q. What kind of leisure activities can we
do on your charters?
A. All tours and charters except Night Fishing
provide the opportunity to swim and snorkel. Scuba diving is available
in the Ko Rok and Adang and the Similan Islands charters. We provide equipment
from a reputable dive shop or, feel free to bring your own. Divemasters
accompany liveaboard charters and will take you to see some of the most
awesome diving hot spots in the world!
Q. How many people can you accommodate?
A. All local day charters and night fishing
charters can accommodate between 10 and 15 people. For liveaboard trips
four people can sleep comfortably and no more than six passengers will
be taken. One of our boats, the Dorado, will sleep six comfortably
with a maximum of eight.
